Another similar topic...I never realized until a few years ago that the Barber design was a woman!! Either she is an East German shotputter or "It's PAT !!" What's with that???

A woman? No way. I wonder what Mr. Barber's wife looked like.

The best way to avoid having your threads hijacked by the gadflies is to simply ignore them.

Moron, if you had looked closer you would realize that feedback is on MY website, not eBay's. Most of those were removed by eBay, and some of the people involved in the scheme were suspended from eBay.
Of course, instead of coming here and learning what is going on first, you have jumped right in and have shown all of us what a condescending, arrogant, egotistical jerk you are.
I am thrilled to find these boards and really have thinks to discuss. Sometimes they are hardcore and sometimes it's fun to just mess around.
Peace.

An attitude adjustment----male or female of your choice
An evening in an Irish pub
A dutch rub not by your barber or hair dresser
Many crackers in your keyboard limiting the verbiage posted
An evening with The Golden Girls where you can't get a word in edgewise
OR
more on the shadier side which I personally do not recommend for most to try at home.
A water skiing trip with cement ski's
A white water rafting adventure above Niagra Falls
And the point is??????????????
I'm getting really tired of some people who bash coins they don't collect. There are some series I don't collect and have no interest in. But I don't start ridiculous threads on how these other coins are ugly, etc. And I don't jump into threads about these coins making stupid, insulting remarks.
By the way, for what it's worth, I don't collect Barbers.
And the point is??????????????
<< <i>By the way, for what it's worth, I don't collect Barbers. >>
Hey, Eric! Morgans suck!
I can't afford to collect high grade coins with politically correct designs, since collectors in wealthy suburbs have made these series too popular for me to accumulate a nice set. I specialized in Barber Dimes a few years ago since original high grade circulated common dates are too cheap and too scarce to fluctuate wildly in price at the hands of promoters who peddle common date large coins in better uncirculated grades to investors. I don't care if the design is androgynous or boring -- there's lots of fun trivia and challenge in this series, too.
When you have done everything you can afford with your $20 Saint registry set. what might you chase next? There are lots of challenges in series with mediocre designs (2 cent pieces, 3 cent silver, Shield Nickels), extremely low grades, Caucasion ladies in Indian headresses (IHC, $1 gold TY2 and TY3, $3 gold, $10 Saints, etc.) The accumulation of U.S. coin designs reminds me of the remark made by the late senator from Nebraska who defended President Nixon's nomination of a Supreme Court justice, whose judicial record was characterized as "mediocre" during the senate's confirmation hearings. Senator Hruska said:"There are a lot of mediocre judges and people and lawyers, and they are entitled to a little representation, aren't they?" Yes, Hruska allowed, in the grand scheme of things, it might be better for the country to have the nation's finest legal minds on the Supreme Court bench. But, he declared, "We can't have all Brandeises, Frankfurters and Cardozos and all that stuff."
Keep in mind that their are collectors in inner cities and very small towns looking for wisdom here. Some of us might
I don't wish to make you feel unwelcome on this forum. It is a wonderful mix of opinions and knowledge from dealers, privileged collectors such as yourself, and working man coin fanatics like myself, from the South Side of Chicago.
The coinfusion here is not as great as the diversity of posters who collect what they like.

HEY NOW!

I think you have done well to show everyone who and what you are.
And, yes, there are diehard SOX fans in Winnetka. So we gotta get along!

I am a former Peace Corps volunteer who has learned very much about the coin business from the "mean old grump" K6AZ over the last 4 years. Consider him part of the landscape here, and do not make an enemy of him. He is very generous with his time and wisdom. I consider myself fortunate to be able to read both your views in the same thread, which I hope will get back to coin designs instead of personal attacks.

Where is the issue here, old dude? What part of this ticked you off sooo much. If anyone else found this offensive say so and I'm done.
Who and what I am? Tell me Father....
<< <i>I think this has gone too far. SG made a tongue-in-cheek comment on the Barber design. He did not insult the collectors of said coins. Others have made similar rips on the same design here in the past. It is not worth crucifying him over. >>
If that was the case, why didn't he respond to my initial post saying that? He hurled the first bomb here.
Why did they run that Coronet Liberty Head gold series in three denominations from 1838/9-1907, nearly 70 years? BOORRRINNNGG!

That's 25 fewer years than the dead president on our one cent piece has been on that coin.
And I do, by the way, collect Lincolns (at least through 1933).
Yes, but at least they changed the reverse design about half-way through the run. And in 1943, they were white. Cool.
