I understand a lot of people are afraid to come forward. But you need to do it to make these people pay for what they have done. File the reports and contact the police. Don't let these people get away with it.
  • Eric is right. I was one of those people that was reluctant to pursue this since the amount I lost was very minimal. But after seeing how many people got scammed and the large amounts of $$$, I'm ready to help get this guy.

All members who were scammed by the Ruffin clan need to file a complaint with the IFCC at http://ifccfbi.gov. Once you've done this, print out a copy and email it to khart@ci.fay.nc.us.

The IFCC form will have all the pertinent info asked and answered by you for them to get involved. Just calling them without having filed is no good!!! They need the legal particulars of your case to proceed and they need ALL of you that got scammed to file!!!
They cannot and will not do anything if I'm the only one to report a scam!

Please people---file a complaint and send it to them ASAP!!!

    David

For an update, I have asked several people around here and no one has ever herd of these folks, they must be new to this area. Thier current address is only listed in this years phone book, and not any prior. It is not the person who I thought it might be in the club by the way!

Jim, I did some checking. Their previous residence was in a small town about half way between Charlotte and Asheville.

    Eric,

Rutherfordton is a good 4 hour ride from here. I have asked several folks around here, including the two long time shop owners that I have known for years and that name doesnt ring a bell at all. No one in the coin club has herd of them either. If they are buying locally, then they are buying with out divuldging thier names to anyone, or [buying from flea market vendors selling coins, which are very few and far between the last few years.

They could be buying on eBay, or some of the regional shows, I know there are quite a few down there. It makes sense though that perhaps they recently relocated from Rutherfordton to Fayetteville.

By the way, how did you guys come out with Charley? It's moving in here, we've had heavy rain for the last several hours. Fortunately not a lot of wind though.
