Childhood dream...

I can remember wanting one of these really bad as a child. I can still remember the excitment I got when I got my first SVDB. I remember it so well. I saved up for months and paid $230 for a VG example. It was so cool to own.

I just bought two SVDB's from JBStevens (thanks JB). Even though I have a nice unc example, I really like having these. As a kid, I didnt really want a unc. I knew I couldnt afford one. A nice mid circ grade was at least attainable for me. Now I have two (oh... and the unc one also.) Totally cool!

Very cool. I remember when I bought mine a couple years ago, it was like finally obtaining something that I had dreamed of owning for 30 plus years.

For most of those years, I never really thought I had the ability to own one, not at all. But things change and it became a reality.

I still look at it and shake my head sometimes.

    Way cool

I think they're such a cool and nostalgic coin that even the super LOW grade ones with tons of problems are neat:

I've always wanted one mint since I was a kid. I still look at auctions and am waiting for the right one, with the right price, and it will be buried with me in the grave.
    Prost!

Why step over the dollar to get to the cent? Because it's a 55DDO.

    Ken,

The good thing is that there's plenty of supply. The bad thing is that there's a lot of demand.

The SVDB is one of the most expencive easy to find coins I know of.

    Ah the childhood dream...

I know the feeling. I purchased my only SVDB four years ago after wanting one for 25 years. It's the pride of my collection.

Glad to see they got one of them right. image

I've had the availability to buy many of them, but have never pulled the trigger. I saw that my local dealer has a couple in his case.

    Hi,
I was wondering if these were the same coins I read about in another post image I always loved nice "honest" circulated examples of any issue. These are both great!

I've always wanted a nice circulated SVDB to complete my raw set, but once I get one, a childhood dream would vanish.

It took me 35 years and I bought both the 09 SVDB and 22 Plain the same day and that completed the collection. Three years later, I have upgraded the 09 SVDB to a PCGS MS63 R&B example and at this moment my SEGS 22 plain XF 40 is at Anacs for crossover.
