Why is it that a 1900 O/CC is NOT required to have a complete Morgan CC set? I just completed my CC set and the O/CC is definately there.
I would also think that if you are going for a full O or even S set, that the 'over' mintmarks should be required for that as well.
Anyone else feel that this should be required?

Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
I know its considered a variety, and I understand why, but I think that a full set needs that variety.
I agree, buy what you like. I guess I like varieties, they make the Morgan series very intersting for me.
BTW: I know nothing is required, it's word usage, used to convey a feeling..........................

Hey, if it counts to you, include it with your collection -- no one's stopping you.
Carson City dies were used because of a shortage of dies at the New Orleans mint.

If you think it fits, go ahead, include it in your set. But don't come here complaining because the Registry (Someone else's idea of a Carson City set) doesn't match your complete wants. But the fact is, it's not a Carson City coin, which is why it is not in the Carson City Registry Set. And as for a Full O or S set, sure, the OMMs from there could be included in the set, but the under mintmark doesn't determine where the die was used, only where it was originally intended to be used...

All that is "required" in collecting is your own personal satisfaction with your acquisitions.
