Stopped by the jewelry/coin store a little while ago to pick up the 1964 proof set with the DCAM half (at least I think it would DCAM, however my opinion and $1.00 may buy a cup of coffee) I saw yesterday. Spoke with the coin guy (who was not there yesterday) and he showed another 1964 set that I had not looked at. It also has a cameo half, however the frost is not quite as good as the DCAM. I could not bear to see the two brothers separated, so I picked up both sets at the modest price of $9.00 each.
After removing the two halves from the mint cello, I found the DCAM to be quite lovely, nice deep frosted devices and deep, undisturbed mirrors. The second half does not have the same level of frost and has some pin point sized milk spots on the obverse). All in all a very pleasing pick up.

Taking the cameo halves out of their storage boxes and sitting them on a table next to each other to look at under a good light source is fun, however you must wear sunglasses because of the intense glare. (LOL). Have any other cameo fans done this? If not, try it sometime but make sure your non collecting family members are not around.
<< <i>I think there are alot of 1960's material that is DCAM out there still. I've seen quite a bit in my little corner of the world in the last several months. I hope your finds pan out!! >>
Really? Can you hook me up?
