10 days with no grading at PCGS?

DennisHDennisH Posts: 13,991 ✭✭✭✭✭
According to the PCGS show schedule, graders are on site starting today at a pre-ANA show and will of course be there for the ANA through August 22.

Looks like submissions times just got a LOT longer!
When in doubt, don't.

I think that a few graders do not travel with them and continue to grade. I doubt they'd take the expense of sending all of them to the show.
  • I would bet that they mostly bring the classics graders. If you think about it, what coins are most likely to be submitted at walk-through level at a show? Because of the fickleness of moderns, I doubt it'd be worth the $100 risk if the coin comes back lower than expected...

The way I read it , " Black out period" I would care to guess that it meant no grading is being done for the 10 days at the PCGS HQ, only at show.

ANACS said they will continue to grade back at HQ as well as on site.

I think black out period refers to the grade guarantee coverage.

Yup. That's why I splurged for the Express Service on my last submission.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

Hmm, I think I should add that I meant the guarantee of turnaround time.

FYI to all...There are four PCGS graders at the ANA...and four PCGS graders here at PCGS. We actually get a lot of economy and modern done when the staff goes to shows, so the economy and modern turn around times will drop this week and next. The regular and express service is on hold, though some of the orders will get processed.

By the way, we were covered with submissions at the show today. I think this ANA is going to spectacular and dealers are going to sell a ton of coins. I also believe that auction action will be amazing.

Good luck to everyone going to the ANA...it's going to be a fantastic show.

    David:

Thanks for your update from the show. It is obvious that you do watch the boards and respond to customers' comcerns. Your comments and attitude represent what good customer service is all about.

    Thanks again.

    Yeah, thanks for updating us.

Thats sounds great, hopefully it will help get a good jump on those economy's and Modern submisions in, I know I have two of them currently.
