What's happening to Quarters after the State Quarters?

Are they resuming the original quarter design?
Or switching to something else?
It'd be kind of nice after 66 years of the same design, to see something else.

They do seem to be into bringing back old designs for the Bullion. Why not the circulation coins?
I think Liberty needs to get back on our coins.
Unfortunately getting a traditional sort of design or an allegorical design is probably not very
likely.
They are working on a new design for the Jefferson at the current time for it's restoration in
2006. The subject matter on both the obverse and reverse must remain the same by law, but
the mint is working to modenize these designs.
The quarter has yet to be forced to remain the same so if this doesn't change there is far more
likely a chance that it will be entirely revamped. There are several laws which will still apply but
the mint will have far greater latitude and in all probability will design something which will fit
with the upcoming nickel.
I remain optimistic since the mint has proven they can recognize quality. Only time will tell.

Imagine that ?
<< <i>I think Virginia will hijack that design, too. >>
That's what I was thinking too. They believe they own our national coinage apparently. I'm very disappointed in Bush for signing that bill.
