Hi all,
this is the result of an evenings work with my Epson 2450 Scanner after a day of reading posts, websites and trial and error tilting slabs etc. Scans are 1200 DPI, and I experimented with gamma and exposure to get the most accurate results regarding color and luster. After I found the optimum gamma and exposure for this set-up, which involves such exotic equipage as a black t-shirt and 3 cardboard Kodachrome 35mm mounts, I locked in the settings and scanned all the coins in the same way. I also used the same locked in edit tools for minor correction. Same adjustments to each across the board.
I am really pleased - I got the irridescent colors on the Seated, the Cameo contrast and gold on the Barber, the brilliance, lime green and purple tone on the Winged Liberty and the sharp satin finish on the Roosevelt. This is, finally, what my little 10c type set really looks like. Please let me know what you think - I am aware of the hotspots on the Merc but could get rid of them....yet. Comments welcome! Thanks for looking!
