I will have a 79s,80s,and 81s selling in the Superior sale on monday..
Will also have my 82s in 67 that should be a 68 sell in same auction.
Will put low reserves on them of 2700 or so.
68's sell from 2800 for marginal ones, and over 4k for very pq ones,

My local dealer has an old green tagged PCGS 68 with a monster clean and frosty face.....only there are spittle carbon spots on the obverse and a noticeable gouge on the eagle's breast.....would guess this is a low end one imo. He was asking around $3200 last I checked.

Roadrunner, thanks for the info... but a gouge on the breast and it gets an ms68 grade?? have you seen it?? just what does the gouge look like??

Other board members: can this type of damage still qualify for a 68 grade, in such a prominent spot??

    thanks and cheers, alan mendelson

Sometimes small imperfections can be overlooked. If the eye appeal and luster are there, then it might not have been seen by the graders.
