Coin Imaging Sucess! Help Needed

HI All,
after reading several posts here and looking through the archives, and at two sites I found online, I have been experimenting with my Epson 2450 Perfection scanner - tilting the slab a bit, using a black cloth background and slightly altering the gamma and exposure of the scan. I am scanning 19th /20th Century Richly toned Proof sliver 10c at 1200 DPI and am now getting rather beautiful scans that actually are pretty darn representative of the coins - even capturing cameo contrast too. However, I am totally unable to figure out how to crop the darn thing with a circle leaving a white backround in the Photoshop Elements program that goes with the scanner! Most frustrating after getting the images so well. I also have an old Photoshop program. Any advice greatly appreciated. I am very used to using a scanner, and Photoshop elements, but only for scanning vintage 35MM Kodachomes slides. I have never tried this before with a coin
Thanks! Anxious to post propr pics of my coins as the ones posted in my set are horrible and real;ly don't look like the coins at all.
Best,
Billy

thanks, I have gotten that far - but where is "Inverse Select"? I don't seem to have that second palette that should drop down after selecting the circular select tool.
Thanks!
Best,
