Hi, I'm a new member here, I would really like some advice on ebay sellers

Hi, I'm a new member here.

Being that Lebron and Yao are my favorite players, I wanted some of their rookie cards.

So far I have purchased these from ebay:

2002-2003 Topps Pristine Refractors #53 Yao Ming R BGS 9.5 #0002355351 (10,9.5,9.5,9.5)

2002-2003 Topps Chrome Refractors Black Border #146A Yao Ming BGS 9.5 #0002421088
(9.5,9.5,9.5,9)

2002-2003 Upper Deck Ultimate Collection Ultimate Signatures #YMS Yao Ming BGS 9.5 #0002489345
(9.5,9.5,9,9.5)

2003-2004 Topps Pristine Refractors #103 Lebron James R BGS 9.5 #0003234796 (10,9.5,9.5,9.5)

I want to find more lebron rookies.

Specifically the Lebron Ultimate in a bgs 9.5 and the Lebron topps chrome gold refractor in a bgs 9.5

BUT, I have read over and over there are so many dishonest and crooked ebay sellers out there due to their trimming techniques and BGS corruption.

Which sellers should I avoid? The most notable ones I have seen from this board are: shoelessjoejackson, unklbnz, kkoenig.....

thanks for your help so much,
tigerak02

***Woops and also, is it possible for a counterfeit card to be incased into a BGS holder?

Anyone who sells anything in BGS 9.5 is dishonest IMO.

    Welcome aboard!
  • Stay away from cards graded by 'Pro' etc.. just get the ones by SGC, PSA.. in my books but GAI and beckett to if they float your boat..

Stay away from people who have there feedback and/or their bidders of the auction set to private.

Look at their feedback and how long they have been on ebay for.. If they have a lot of good feedback that's very close to 100% you're fine..
  • In a few years all Lebron and Yao cards will be worthless so it won't matter if cards are real, trimmed, or counterfeit. They'll all be worth the same.
  • tigerak02-I have a Ultimate Lebron auto RC for sale but it is not graded, let me know if you would be interested.
    Many successful trades!

    Refs- Just ask!

There is not any "sellers to avoid" list of which I am aware. Scammer type sellers come and go on ebay so any list wouldn't be of great help anyway. The important key to baseball card collecting/investing is to read as much good information as possible to gain as much knowledge as possible. A good place to start is this link for newbies which is a simple page about tips for card collectors - you can branch out from there. Also this forum is an outstanding place to learn about baseball and other sports cards.
