New coin for the set.

Deepcoin (Rick) was kind enough to sell this 20P. This picture does the coin no justice at all. Rick can confirm this if he posts to the thread. Extremely nice luster shows through the somewhat dark but not ugly original tone. Miss Liberty's face is the very cool blast white and sets the coin off in a excellent fashion. The reverse is blast white except for some light tone at the rim. The coin is housed in a older Green PCGS holder.

Nice coin ? What do you folks think ? Needless to say I am very pleased with the coin and thank Rick very much for letting it come to a new home on the West Coast. ....image

Edit to add a little better obverse picture. I think. image

    Ken,

I am happy for this coin to have a new home. The picture does not do the obverse justice. Lady Liberty's head is framed beautifully with a rich tone that really sets this coin off. It is close to a 65 and for the tonelovers in the crowd, the attractive toning makes it a really nice coin. I probably should have charged double for it, but Ken has certainly made me some good deals in the past and I know it will have a happy home.

FYI, it is good to see a Mercateer thread on the first page again. Where is everyone, on vacation?

It looks like a good coin, Ken, and very nearly FB.

I don't have a pop report handy at the moment, but I'm sure the '20-P is a tough coin in NB, as are most of the "P" mint Mercs from the '20's. I'll be keeping an eye on my rearview mirror.

Rick, you're right. The Mercateers have been conspicuous by their absence lately. Maybe they're saving up for the ANA show and auctions. I'm laying low for another couple of months, unless an irresistible '21-P or '26-D comes along. It would be good to see some nice additions to other Merc sets over the next few weeks.

    nice coin.
I love toning on my coins...
Every coin in my set is different looking, rather than just blast white coin after coin.

I will be adding my Merc sets after the ANA.
