I bought a "nm-mt" 1955 topps ed mathews, but it is just a hair smaller top to bottom than my other cards. About a sixteenth of an inch. I have been collecting for 10 years, I recently set 50 of my vintage stars in for a grading. One came back too small, and one came back too large, out of 10 years of collecting mind you!. Since I have been buying raw material on ebay, about 3 months, I have recieved 4 trimmed cards! Most recently a 55 kilebrew, and maybe this mathews, also a GEM 9 banks, and GEM 10 Kaline. I have learned my lesson with GEM, but why are sooo many trimmed cads appearing?

Unethical dealers take vg and ex cards worth nickels
and dimes, trim them to give the appearence of a mint
card, and then send them to GEM or PRO to be returned
in a "10" slab. There are always going to be new collectors
unaware of what they are buying. When these cards sell
for hundreds or even thousands of dollars each, it was
well worth the time and effort for the seller but an
expensive lesson for the buyer.

How long ago did you purchase the Gem graded cardz of Mathews, Banks, etc.?
I have an email and person you can possibly make a claim - also, did you pay by credit card? I had something totally resolved - altho, it take a little time.

Sorry to hear that. On the question of size requirement - are you asking what the minimum amount that PSA will accept on card? If so, according to one of the graders: it can be no more than 1/32" short and show NO evidence of trimming - hope this helps.
