Any theories?

I've just recently started collecting 55 Topps baseball. I'm going to try to do it in 5-6 with maybe some 7's. Over the last few nights a good amount of auctions have ended for this set in this grade (commons specifically) and they've almost all ended above SMR, some well above. I collect 52 Bowmans as well and more often than not could get commons at 60-75% of SMR. Does anybody have any thoughts on why this set seems to be going above SMR or is it more that my 52B experience is an not the norm. Thanks fellas.
