This is still being tweaked (I'm not 100% happy with it yet), but I thought I show it. I'll be adding more historical info for each token as time and research allow.

Sweet!!!! I especially liked the bibliography of references so I can see where you obtained some of that information. I am just building a library of coin books. I have no idea what a "diesinker" is though.

Your tokens are in really nice shape. I also liked the fact that you could zoom in on them to get a better look (I hate the fact that in many places you cannot fet a close look at the coins).

All in all, pretty darn cool. Thanks for the effort.

Diesinker is another term for die engraver. The term diesinker is normally used to indicate that the engraving is three dimentional rather than two dimentional like a plate or currency engraver. Technically there is a difference between a diesinker and a die engraver though. A die engraver engraves or cuts the design into the die where a die sinker "sinks" the design ino the die through the use of hubs and/or punches. The two terms are often used interchangably though.

There is a difference between a GTT (Genuine Trade Token) and a token issued for general circulation. A GTT token is issued for a specifi merchant and is usually redeemable at his business establishment. A token issed for general circulation is usually an anonymous issue that isn't redeemable anywhere.

I'm not sure where you are getting your mintage figures, they seem to match the figures in Waters, (But Waters in not mentioned in your bibliography) but I notice things like your Hampshire 54 where you list a mintage of 103,000, that mintage is the combined mintage of D&H 53,54, and 55. If all three were listed as common I would assume a mintage of roughly 34,000 each but since 53 amd 54 are consideed to be scarce I would probably estimate the mintage breakdown to be more like 25,000/25,000/53,000. So I would list the mintage on the site as "Approx 25,000" rather than 103,000.

Bill, more than anything else this is a way to "show-off" my collection and an adjunct to my George III page. The two are going to be cross-linked in short order. The whole idea came about because I was pissed off about PCGS not having a Registry for British silver or copper and grew from there.

Mike, I am using Arthur Waters for mintage data, but have not gotten far enough along to update the bibliography yet, may do so tonight if I get time. Per your insight I may need to update to list GTTs and gereral circulation tokens and have a note explaining the difference, I knew the difference but I am having trouble getting my mind around how to explain it in a concise manner to a casual web surfer. I may also add a note explaining that mintage figures listed are for type and not specific D&H number.
