Yes, it is a Jeton. It is listed for sale on eBay right now and I am thinking about trying to get it for my father for a Christmas present. He is a Pharmacist so I think it would be right up his alley. I just wish I knew what these normally sell for before I do any bidding.
It's out of my period but octagonal jetons of this sort from the Napoleonic era run from $15 to $150, with an average of about $40. This should be less in my opinion since it's from the time of Nap the Third, much higher mintages. I'd pay about $25-30 for the one you show depending on my interest.
