I just sent the clown an "ask seller a question" e-mail.... .Over $500 in coin value here. If bidding is not improved, I will be forced to cancel the auction.
And I'll report you for fee avoidance. If you post an auction, then take your lumps. Do you cancel when it gets bid over value?
If he would take no less than a certain price for the coin, he should have set the initial bid or reserve for that price.
I always thought eBay should only allow sellers to cancel items within the last 24 hours. If I bid on an item and wish to cancel my bid, I am only allowed to do so in the last 24 hours. Why should it be different for the seller?
New alias since i'm locked out of my hookedoncoins account
Who cares looks like junk to me. None of them would go in a slab, and RAW coins should have better pictures if the seller espects to sell them. Most legit dealers and even us small time collectors can do better than his poor guality listing.

You're right, of course, but to me there's a bigger point. It seems that all the "enforcement" emphasis is on non-performing bidders, whereas "non-performing sellers" can keep getting away with behaving badly. I don't want to rehash an old, contentious thread (the old "Louis and Proof Show"), but the simple fact is that sellers have played this game for a long, long time, and yet there's been no accountability to it similar to the NPB and bid retraction information kept on buyers.
As long as the fees come only from the seller, there's no incentive for eBay to consider the best interests of the buyer.
I never said it was right or wrong; I've purchased some coins from this member and been happy with those purchases. Just wondering if those with the flamethrowers knew who thay were flaming.
Flaming someone and saying that someone is doing something blatantly wrong are two different things!!!!!!!!!! I don't personally care who the person is that is doing something wrong. Wrong is just wrong...
Yep, that's what reserves are for.....if you know what you want for the coins then open the bid at that amount or use a reserve. Waiting for an auction to hit what you feel is fair and then ending it early if it doesn't is just plain wrong.
Guys, isn't it possible that the seller was unaware that what he was saying he might do, would be against Ebay policy? In fact, my feeling is that if he knew it was wrong, he would be much less conspicuous about it.
Rather than making fun of him, accusing him or reporting him to Ebay, I sent an email to him, letting him know that doing as he said would be against Ebay policies, etc.
I don't think you are giving the seller very much credit. So he has bought and sold at least 200 times on Ebay, but he doesn't understand how auctions work?????
I am not saying you have to be an Ebay expert and have the rule book memorized, but come on.......if you know how to end an auction early (which can be tough to find in the rules) then one can expect that you know it's against the rules.
Seems to me I recall "Popular" board members canceling auctions early. I believe many came on here and said it was their coin to do what they choose to do, right or wrong. Hey at least this seller is giving a heads up what they plan to do rather than you waiting to snipe and it gets canceled. Or is anybody even interested in this coin?
Always amazing when it's a new board member, or a stranger the lynch mob comes out. But when it's a board member held in high regard.... ..... Hardly any replies.... as in no comment. Just stating what I've seen here in a couple years time. Thanks for making ebay safe guys!!

Keep the vet. it's as good as coins for investment or looks or just the fun of having. As for the auction if he ends it he still pays eBay. And remember that that cavett on all autions is BUYER BEWARE. And I hope most of the people here know how to use a price guide by now.
OK, so it's a board member that has clearly been identified by other board members. It upsets said board members that this board member seller "MIGHT" cancel his auction early. I can PM another board member to find out who the board member in question is. What's the big secret at this point? Out this board member. Just kidding and having fun with you guys. I really don't care what he does with his "Stuff."

Maybe this seller is using a messed up version of Turbo Lister that just wouldnt allow him to place a reserve on this lot or even start the opening bid any higher than one cent.
Seems to me that if members of this forum were more than armchair QB's for eBay auctions..... something would've been done already through the proper channels. Frankly, I don't care to be engaged in such "Trade Wars".

It's truly funny, no make that truly sad, that people in this day and age are so wrapped up in their own little world that they refuse to try and teach someone else the correct or accepted way of doing things.

In reality he should get flamed MORE because he "IS" a board member

I understood that. But I don't know the secret handshake to know who it is.

Be careful some people are afraid of the truth!
This lot went from $201.66 to $315.01 on six bids in the last 50 seconds.
If you have good stuff that people want, trust the snipers. Let them come. If it's worth going after, they will come.
