Labor Day Weekend Show - S.F.

I was just curious if anyone had planned on going? It's been forever and a day since I've gone to one of these shows, so I am sure I'll be in for an eye-opener.

Since it's about a 90 minute drive for me, which day is typically the best day to go? I'm assuming the last day, as the dealers may be more open to negotiating, but I fear inventory may be low and some dealers may not be sticking around for the whole deal.

Thoughts?

By the thread title I thought it was a Jimmy Buffett reference. What happens "Come Monday"?

I really like that show. IMO your best bet is first thing Saturday morning. I find it small enough to make 2 loops in a couple of hours, but still very much worth while.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

I'm going... Best day to go is Saturday

Friday - Alot of dealers arn't there yet and are not set up.
Saturday - Best day. All dealers set up. Most people signing. Plenty of cards to choose from.
Sunday - If you can't go Sat., go Sun. Same as Saturday, but alot of cards are gone, so not the best selection.
Monday - Awful... about 15 tables left. image
  • I go to this show every year and I go Friday night. Years ago the show was much larger than it has been the last couple of years. At any rate it is IMO the best show in the bay area.

I'll be going at least one day, probably two.
  • Try to avoid the "high times" when all the big-name 49ers/Raiders players are signing - it can be a zoo then ... otherwise, it's a great show (if for no other reason it's one of only 2 decent shows in the Bay Area each year).

Looks to be a good show. The list of exhibitors is impressive...

Exhibitors at SF Tri-Star Labor Day Weekend Show

Notables include PSA, GAI, and Beckett, on the grading front. I have a '52 Topps card PSA 7 that I've questioned since I received it, so I may go to clear that whole thing up. Dealers of note include Goodwin, Kurtz Kards, Mile High, and Scottsdale Cards. I know these folks from either personal dealings or their SMR ads/discussions here.

Autographs are a-plenty, but I don't know if I'll venture into that circus.
