nice 1957 double mint set from live auction today

darktone

I bought a 1957 and 1958 from a coin auction in Madison today. Both are color toned. I did not see anyone besides me even take them out of the envelope before the auction started. I paid $280 for this 57 and that's more than full retail but I don't mind paying more when they look like this- actually I would have went higher if I needed to. mike

Nice set.

Nice looking set. I have a full run of these acquired over the past 40 years, and like 'em because they reek of originality!

They came directly from the mint (most of mine have original mailing envelopes), and are "neat" items to own.

Congtrats on your new acquisition!!

Thanks guys. Major I would love to see some of your sets. Can you post some pictures? They had a complete run of double mint sets at the auction today 1947-1958. I tried to get a couple of other sets but that were nice but none others had the colors of the 57 and 58. Hold on a few minutes and I'll post a picture of the D mint 58 set. mike

Sorry Mike, I have neither the equipment nor the skills to post pix.

Maybe, someday, I'll get my computer wiz son to do some pix and posts.

Major, I know you don't PM but if you change your mind about PM'ing let me know and I could help you get started taking pictures or scans of your coins and in a couple hours you'll be posting pictures on the forum- assuming you have a scanner or digi-cam. mike
