There's a $520 bid on a 72-P PCGS MS65 Type 3 IKE and the reserve is not met yet? Update: it sold f

right now on eBay there's an auction for the above mentioned coin and the bid is at $520 and the reserve isn't even met yet.

Isn't that a bit over the top for a MS65 T3?

Or am I out of the loop? image

I would not pay $520.00 for it, but that is within the going range. I think you will find the range to be between $450.00 to $600.00 for T1 and T3.

Of course, if you are Trooper, you will find one with a BIN of $80.00. imageimage At least I think that was Trooper. Some folks have all the luck. Thankfully, I sometimes get a good deal, too. image

The Type I's have been going for $600 or so.

If Type III's are over $500 then the Type I's are worth $800 or more.

    Just my opinion.

Hard to find the type I's with good luster, and combined with the low relief, they look rough.

Type III's typically have pretty good luster, the problem is bagmarks.

Rampage, That was me that got that T3 last year, about this same time of year too I think. image

Just one of those being at the right place at the right time things. I happen to find the auction 20 minutes after it started. But,I was a nervous wreck the entire time I was going through the Buy it Now process. I was sure that after I clicked the button to finish the transaction someone else would beat me to it and I'd get the message "this auction ended early with Buy it Now."

But it didn't happen, I got it, I jumped for joy at my good fortune and I got to hear my wife say, "See, you get good deals once and a while too." Nothing like a crushing blow to a nice, healthy victim mentality. image

Thanks for remembering my "great deal". I figured I was the only one who still did.

How can anyone forget that deal?! That is a deal I will never forget. image

Actually, about once a week (all I have time for), I do a quick search for BINs on eBay to see if I can come up with any deals like that. I have yet to find one. image Maybe I need to switch the day to another day.
  • WOW, I paid $260 for mine. Maybe it's time to think about selling.

I have a MS63 and MS64 also how much do you think I can get for those on the bay of E.

$600 for a 72-P PCGS MS65 Type 3 IKE? That's gotta be over the top...isn't it? Have to say though, that $80 beauty I picked up last year is looking sweeter and sweeter all the time! image

  • image james, i have seen the type # 3 sell as high as $ 650.00 ,although it was a pq coin, it was a bit over priced. however, i agree with you about the type # 1. the type # 1 is underpriced, and should sell for $ 700.00 to $ 800.00.
