Help needed on FB dime designation.

Could any Roosevelt people please help me with FB designations. I assume its full upper and lower lines? For an example only, here is a poorly struck clean 48S, would this go FB? Please explain to me if the bands need to be fully rounded or just split.

Looks FB to me. But hey, I'm wrong sometimes...most times...usually. LOL

I would call that an IFFY coin. The bottom band seems to fade out ever so slightly on the left hand side near the mintmark - if it does, it wouldn't get the designation. In my experience, FB/FT coins aren't subject to turning and catching the right light to get their designation.

would you BUY it as an FB??

need a better look at the vertical lines, the horizontal ones look there for FB if a little rough, but there's a patch on the upper vert that's hard to see if it's weakly struck or just dark in the shot.

I just posted that 48S as an example for my question. What exactly are the requirements for FB designation on a Roosevelt Dime? Horizontal bands fully split upper and lower, vertical bands fully split top to bottom? Fully rounded bands? I don't know. Can someone supply the answer? Here is another example of an 81D. Just for the sake of this discussion please use this coin as an example.

PCGS only grades the upper and lower horizontals (NGC grades the verticals also). 90% of the time, the upper bands are fully split so its usually the lower bands that are of interest. The bands must be fully split withno bridges or marks bisecting the bands. In my experience, its seem to be the extreme right hand side of the lower bands where one is most likely to find a bridge...

Thanks for the info guys. I have never had much interest in Roosevelt's, but I do have a nice set from 46 to 88 that I noticed contains a lot of potential FB coins. I just was not sure of how PCGS designates them. A few have what appear to be FB's but are weekly struck, and it was those coins I had a question about. Thanks again for all the help.
