  • If it were in a PCGS holder, it would be four figures. Easy. This one, who knows. In the right venue, such as Heritage Sig sale where people could look at the coin, it might approach that if it were equal with PCGS as far as DCAM designation goes. PCGS is very stingy right now with DCAM on anything at all in the 50-64 pf range. If I could not look at this coin in person, I would not bid DCAM money on it. And guess what, no one is so far. The bids are about what one would expect a PCGS 66 cam would top out at. Who knows what will happen in the last few minutes of the auction though. Probably not much because this is a hidden reserve auction. Most people will be turned off and not bid because of that.

  • I made the assumption it would come down one grade to 65DCAM @ PCGS and i might go 300.00

I would have to agree with the assumption that at PCGS, it would drop a grade.I myself would crack it and send it in,it might stand a better chance of receiving PR66 DCAM.As to value,I'd agree $300 would be a fair price.

Wish the foto was better; but it looks like a nice coin. I would have to see it in person to bid 4 figures, that's for sure.image

<FONT face=Verdana size=1>100proof1957, do you really have to use the Lord's name in vain over this coin?

You can extend that through the SMS coins to 1967. I have to add, though, that NGC has tightened considerably recently on these coins and can sometimes be every bit as tough as PCGS.

  • Well let"s see. This tremendous question from someone who comes on these boards and admist that they end auctions early with no real justification except that they're not getting what they want, someone who doesn't hesitate for a minute to insult others and someone who doesn't mind calling anyone who doesn't agree with them an idiot.
Does mommy know that you're on the computer?? You're all fun and games when things go how you want them to but as soon as anyone else has a different opinion, they're idiots. 2 more hours and you'll have to take your ball and go home because the street lights will go on.
I have read every thread you're written in the last month and you pretend on one hand to be an innocent victim of a "smear" campaign yet as soon as anyone else has something different to say, you're the first to jump all over them.
But the coin, maybe you can get your girl scout badge for "hobby".

Is this a new NGC holder?? If so, I would be tempted to pull the trigger on it- but the blurry photos tend to shy folks like me away....

What was the Bikini comment about anyway ?

  • Schmort,
you do appear to be a "Mindless Idiot"
If my mommy was alive (she likely passed away when you were pooping your pants, maybe yesterday ?) she would know i was on the computer.
If you want to shill for a shyster company like coinmoovahs feel free, just dont think you have the right to bring your BS to a forum topic where i only asked a legitimate question.
I will apologise to the rest of the fine members on this forum for my bathroom humour.

  • It is a new NGC holder. Therefore the grade or pf66 will probably be correct. However the DCAM is still not as tough at NGC as at PCGS. The coin looks as if the obverse is all there. The reverse looks a bit light. NGC lets the wheaties by on the DCAM if the obverse is all there. PCGS does not. Both sides better be all there. I know what Rick Tomaska said in his book about the wheat proofs something to the effect that the reverse cam does not matter on wheat proofs. But it certainly does to PCGS. This coin will most likely come back from PCGS as a CAM66. CAM only! And that because of the reverse. But to be sure, I would have to see the coin in person. That drop from DCAM to CAM is a monster drop in money for this coin. It is a chance only the most sure grader looking at the coin in person should take. JMHO!

  • You appear to be so nice and honest when you want something from all the others on the forum. It seems that I recall you got right down and dirty when you tried to defend your ending auctions early but then, when others attacked you for doing so, you were quick to start the name calling and ridicule.
You can't have it both ways. The members here are helpful to everyone without question. That shows what great people they are but you are so quick to "lose it" when you don't get your own way.
When you want something, butter won't melt in your mouth but look out when you don't get what you want. You need to spend a couple of hours on the "time-out" chair to think about things.

  • Shmort,
who are you really shilling for ? melloow44 ? or coinmooovahs ?
i really never asked for any BS in this post but you continue to be an A"HOLE for no reason.
I simply asked what the forum members felt the coin was worth,no more or less.

  • Russ and Eagle 7 have validated my opinion of the coin.

100proof1957, in an earlier reply to one of my posts you asked me to turn on my PM. I did that today. PM away if you like. By the way, the 1957 cent pictured in this post looks great. However, absent seeing it with your own eyes, you simply can not tell how nice it is and thus pulling the trigger on a purchase for strong dollars would not be my cup of tea.
