cents, some ultra modern cents, and some states quarters I don't believe there
are any MS-69's.
The late '80's to date cents can be spectacular sometimes. These would make an
interesting short set in MS-68 or MS-69.
That was the point.
I still thought that some of the playa's here would have some MS69s.

sorry, but that was my first thought, too. It's a nice coin, but IMO a 69 should have full bands and full luster or light toning; imo that toning is too heavy for MS69 in that series.
in fact, interesting that the other "ms69" shown is a whole 1 year old.
edit, oh, and by the way, the cent a nice coin, too

Original toning, whether it be light, medium or heavy will not preclude a coin from grading MS68, MS69, or even MS70 regardless of series. Nor does a coin have to have FB, FH, full red, or any other designation to grade MS69, or any other MS grade.

Did I just say that?!?!
