Here's a coin in auction that appears to be a superior example with nice eye appeal. 1847's tend to come with flashy, semiprooflike surfaces that have some striations and thus nice mint bloom. Note the price estimate... not too bad when the next step up costs some $50k!

But seriously, it is great to have an expert and connoisseur of seated dollars pointing out nice examples in the marketplace. If I were interested in acquiring one like this, this post would have me emailing Laura pronto! Thanks for pointing it out.

Yeah, my thoughts too... I remember recently looking at a Half-Disme on Heritage, and the first set of pictures made it look really bright and lustery (Though it was a circ piece) which really wasn't too appealing to me, but the in-slab pics showed it as being a dark original grey coin... Which one was correct? The 2nd set of pictures showed a more desirable coin to me...

How about a comment on the 59-S $1 in XF-45 and the 57 $1 in MS-61 at Superior. I will provide links for your convenience.
