Life just threw me 2 curve balls, gonna have to sell most of my collection

Two days ago, I fell asleep at the wheel on the way home from work and rear-ended a SUV, and totaled my car. Yesterday, on the way to work (borrowing my dad 's car), I fell asleep again, rear-ended another SUV, and totaled my dad 's car . Very luckily, no one in either SUV got hurt. I got bumps, bruises, and minor cuts. The seatbelt and airbag saved me. I thank God for this; someone could have been killed. Just goes to show, you never know when sh*t will happen to you. I 'm gonna sell most of my collection, stop actively collecting for now, take care of the damages I 've done, and stop and smell the roses more often ( been working myself to death ).
One thing for sure, I will still be chatting with you guys/gals on this board, learning and contributing. Thanks for your time. You guys are great.

Something might be physically wrong if your falling asleep that easily driving. I drive 4000 miles a month usually and get tired, but not enought to go to sleep while driving. I would get it checked out with your physician.
Secondly, one positve note, your selling your collection at a good time into a strong market. Take the time to find the best possible way to sell it off, either major dealer, major auction house, etc.
good luck and hope everything works out!

PS Hope things turn out well for you.
P.S. Don't work sooo hard that it ends up killing you or someone else.
Thanks,

<< <i>Also I might add you should not be behind a wheel until this problem is solved as you are as dangerous as any drunk driver. I would hate to hear of someone being seriuoly hurt or even killed by this. mike >>
I was thinking the same thing. I hope he gets whatever problem it is resolved. In addition to someone getting hurt or killed, I could see him being charged with a pretty serious crime after the first time, and especially after the second time, if it happened again and there were injuries or death.
Thankfully, he has the opportunity to get whatever it is taken care of before it happens again.

Do you have Sleep Apnea? If you do not know, perhaps it's time to get tested?
Jim
he works in the ER so maybe he has been working too many hours. I am sure that is the problem.
Truely sorry to hear of your troubles.Wish you better luck!
I drive a truck for a living,so I know how easy it is to get tired behind the wheel.

Good luck in your search to make things better. Sleep apnea sounds like a good place to start. Its been mentioned to me a few times and I have yet checked into it.

Keep one coin you normally wouldn't sell as a rememberance; it'll also act as the impetus to start collecting again.

Coin collecting is not a hobby, it's an obsession !

Unfortunately I can't think of a better fate for most SUV's.

It can be so easy to fall into a habit of working too much - it's good that you realize you need to make some changes.
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
It is very common and easily overlooked.
Sleep Apnea Questionnaire
Sleep Apnea is cessation of breathing "during" sleep.

Sleep Apnea is cessation of breathing "during" sleep. >>
It leads to bad sleep and excessive daytime drowsiness. Also a big strain on the heart.
