LINE # CERT # COIN DATE DENOMINATION VARIETY COUNTRY GRADE
1 2163xxxx 1881 S$1 USA MS62
2 2163xxxx 1881-S S$1 USA MS66
3 2163xxxx 1886 S$1 USA MS64
Date Received: 06/17/2004
Date Shipped: No Date Specified
This one really puzzles me. My opinion of the coins when I submitted them:
1881 - Solid 63 with a shot at 64. Dont know what happened here.
1881-S - Solid 64 with a shot a 65. I'm going to have to take a close look at this when I get it back.
1886 - My grade was 65. This coin is a 65 all day long, I suspect they knocked it down a point for the dusty toning on the reverse.

<< <i>How did you do an economy submission with only three coins? >>
This was a combined submission with another board member. I didn't include his coins.
I may have to send some coins to pcgs if they are grading coins that quickly.
Nice coins, Hard to argue with the assigned grades from the pic's.
That 66 looks more like a 65+, but it does look to be flashy as heck! An eye appeal bump?

That's what I am thinking. I tend to grade technically. It is indeed very flashy, and the brilliance enhances the toning. I was so sure this wouldn't go higher than 65 that I bought another flashy, nicely toned 66 from Legend. Now I have two!
Hope the delay is driven by a potential pop 1 coin.

I have three submissions in including a 15 day from early last month, and still no word.

Still not notified of grades or shipment, must have gotten lost (two submissions same time approximately 36 coins)
If you send your coins to NGC, they are door to door 40ish days, give or take a couple of days (I've had my last 9 economy submissions fall into this category), you can proceed to sell those coins after 40 days. Sell the coins, and buy other coins with that money, and do the whole thing over again. Hopefully you are making money at this point!
With the pcgs grades, if they take, what, 75+ days....you're talking double the amount of time that you don't have cash in hand.
No please help me with this. Are your pcgs graded coins worth that much more than their ngc counterparts to afford to NOT have the coins selling for you for double the out time?
I doubt it on most issues, or series. There are a couple of exceptions, but I doubt each coin in each submission falls into this category.
Help me out with the rationale from a business/selling point of view.
Again, if these are coins for your collection, my point is mute. If they are for resale, let's talk.......
