Has anyone dealt with Mintxpress??

Here's the story. I bought a PSA 9 Pittsburgh Steelers team card at roughtly 1/2 SMR and I promptly sent a check nearly 2 weeks ago. The seller is claiming he never received it - but I'm staring to wonder whether he received it and threw it out - not wanting to sell the card for 1/2 SMR (I don't know how I bought it so low - most PSA 9's sell for $125 to $250). I'm not sure what to do from here. It was auction 5108336587 if anyone is wondering. Advice would be appreciated.

Regards,

  • they're a consignment auction house, so i doubt they care what the item ended at. ask your bank to check if the check was cashed. if it wasn't it was probably lost in the mail

It's possible that it's just like he said, he never got it. If it hasn't cleared with your bank you can send them another. I've dealt with them a lot and never had a problem.

I'm guessing it's just half-ass record keeping. I won a lot from them a couple of years ago, sent a money order out right away, but was later told by Mintxpress that they didn't receive it. I reported it as lost to the USPS, who issued a new money order. To make a long story short, Mintxpress cashed both the original and the replacement money orders and the USPS billed me for the replacement. Fortunately, Mintxpress was cool about it and paid back the double payment so that I could pay back the post office. All ended well, but it was still a pain in the butt.

Same type experience. They are honest, but inept. First they said they didn't get my check...I faxed them a copy. Then they said they couldn't find the card....the next day it appeared. You should be OK.

Thanks everyone - I get a little leery when someone claims they didn't receive a check when the item was purchased well below SMR.

I won a lot from them earlier this year. Slow shipping, but cards arrived nicely packaged, and as advertised.

  • You should probably factor in that maybe they also were at National, that would add to any delay in shipping.
  • I have bought a few cards from them on EBAY and never had any problems!

Is it only a relic of hobby lore anymore about the lawsuit that they tried to wage against the first person who left them a negative feedback? ANyway - that's what I remember, but I'm old and often mistaken
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

That's no urban legend. That is 100% true! MintXPress retained an attorney(s) and made serious legal threats to their eBay customer. Unfortunately they greatly underestimated whom they were dealing and the negative feedback still stands.

No, although there have been times in the past where people have thought this person and myself were the same person. image

Yep, Clue #3 sums it up.

And realize this, he could have very easy capitulated and removed the feedback, but he fought it because it was the right thing to do and it cost him more in attorneys fees than the card he bought. To me, that says quite a bit of the measure of this person's character.
