You can buy inexpensive coins on Teletrade if you buy A LOT of them to offset the minimum shipping charges. image

C'mon, fess up. What did you pay WAY too much for???????? image

  • You still have to pay a $5 minimum buyer's fee on any coin, otherwise, it's 10%. That's still a lot better than everyone else's 15% or (gulp!) 20%. Shipping fees are the same wherever you buy from. I don't understand how you thought your bid on a single coin of $27 would lead you to believe that your bottom line figure would be $30 or $35. Remember, if you have more than one winning bid, you still pay the one shipping charge, so that's one way to save. Teletrade still has a pretty good system going, I think.

Always factor in the 10% buyer's fee and postage when bidding on TT. Just bid 15% under what the coin is worth to you. If you want to return anything you really get hammered. Basically bid sight unseen at 15% less and you can't get hurt. You can buy some bargains from time to time. But now that Spectrum and other sources can be filling the TT auctions, it's a real crap shoot as to what came from where and what the reserve is. I don't really want to get the coin that was tried 4 times at PCGS and then shopped around the country at 8 major shows and a retail clientel before ending up at TT.

  • Proof, next time look for "dealer lots" on Teletrade -- you'll get a lot more coin for your fees. And stick with PCGS on the common Teletrade moderns.
