Images help ??

I took some coin images with a Nikon 4300 Digital. I have them in Nikon View on my computer. Does anyone know how to create individual files for each image, so they can be uploaded to a thread. This is all new to me, as in no experience. I know all the steps to upload on a thread but, always get, unable to upload file. When I try to make an attachment, all I get is the ever so popular red X in a box. All help appreciated !!

The images have to be less than 50k size to upload onto PCGS. That can be achieved by resizing the image and cropping off unnecessary parts of the image. I don't know Nikonview software to help you specifically.

  • In Nikon View you can go to File then choose Edit using other program and pick what editing program you want to use then save the files with names of your choosing once you've edited them. Be sure to click on the image you want to edit first. You can click on more than one image to edit but if you're using a PC, I'm not sure how you do that. With a mac I just have to hold the option key down and click on as many as I want. I use Nikon View all the time

I'm not sure what this means. The images should be stored on your hard drive as an individual file. Saving them as jpg?

Wayne, I would also suggest using a USB card reader if you are not already using one. Makes it much easier than plugging your camera into the PC, and it will also act as a removable drive on your PC, so you don't have to use the funky Nikon software (I also use a 4300). For editing your images, there is a great, free software program for those who just want to do basic editing:

I use the 4500 and Nikon View 5.
Each time I do a file transfer to the PC it sets up a folder with a name like img0034.
Under it will be a second folder named 100 Nikon.
Under it will be all the actual images with different file names.
At this point I move the images where I want them and rename the folders and image file names.
