Anyone hoarding cash to pay for any winnings in Mastro's latest?
This is one I'd love to get a bunch of HOFer 5s from the winner:

<< <i>This is my first consignment to Mastro, or any large auction house since the 1980s. Is it like eBay, where most of the bidding happens at the end? My item had a burst of bidding in the first couple days, taking it almost to SMR, then has stayed level for the past week. I'm thinking someone put in an early big bid in a pre-emptive strike to weed out the bargain-hunters, just like on eBay, and hopes he will be almost alone near the end. And just like on eBay, I'm hoping the real big dogs are still waiting in the weeds! >>
jrdolan: It's sort of like that. Anyone who wants to play usually places (at least one) early bid. The bulk majority of auction takes place after the official auction closes, and it is just those that have already bid, and they enter their bidding wars at that point. A jersey I consigned to the last Mastro auction I think escalated by nearly 50% after the official auction closed, and the 10-minute rule was in effect.
