Man it really sucks.. KSA vs PSA prices..

It sucks seeing a PSA 8 Gretzky RC go for $500 when a KSA 9 which you know is probably a PSA 5 is going for $3,000.

These collectors bidding on these need to be educated. It makes me seriously consider busting my SGC holders open containing cards that I want to sell... get them graded and flip them for way more..

Even in those crappy small scans you can see the cards print spots and the card is off centered.. but ohhh this crappy small grading company in Canada says it's a 9 so it must be worth thousands... BLAH!

Ah, the old original psuedo wannabe PSA holder. I forgot how ugly the back looked. Never understood the reason for the 2 flags on the back. I have other things in mind; but not saying a word.

Just cross your cards over to KSA then.

Ditto. I thought they were the "Canadian" PSA?

  • I have never had any problems with them, even my crossovers went to PSA without loosing grade points.

But I have seen the same sheet cut cards in KSA holders for OPC hockey as BGS has become popular for.

  • Really? Wow.. I see many KSA graded cards at the monthly card shows here with high grades that they don't deserve.. Maybe it's because they have three submission centers around the country and one of them isn't consistent with how the other two grade? dunno...

Gretzky is the only card that fetches better dollars in a KSA holder. By that I mean if I had a PSA 7 and knew it would crossover to a KSA 8, I would crossover the card because the KSA 8 would outsell the PSA 7. Gretzky is the only card I can think of where this situation exists with KSA.
I have had very little success with KSA crossovers, usually 1 or 2 grades lower with PSA. I have found the severe overgrades are usually in the older holders.
  • From what I understand KSA is pretty legit and that there grading has gotten pretty solid. Any card from any company could lose a grade or gain one with another company. It is subjective after all.

  • I was the first bidder on the auction..the seller kept emailing me/harrassing me to "buy" his card at the buy it now price. Then someone else out bid me ...yay!

BTW - The seller said that the card had no flaws and would grade a psa 10 ! wtf...may have been a scam.
  • Hah the 'used car salesmen' of ebay.. maybe it is.. who knows.

I think I'll crack open one of my graded Gretzky's and send it to KSA just see what happens..
