I agree with the long wait. I think possibly the most important attribute to being a great quarterback is a coach's term of "makes good decisions" when in a game. I haven't seen that yet with Michael Vick. Great talent and athleticism - yes. Makes good decisions - not yet. In all fairness to Vick, he's still young and could develop into a great quarterback, but he isn't there right now.

Man I dont know what he is thinking...a Super Bowl ..!!???, who does he think he is anyways, I meen he is one of the best althletes in the NFL but unproven to say the least.
  • Living in Atlanta makes me a pretty big Falcons and Vick fan. I'm a little skeptical of the new west coast offense - I'm not sure if it'll use Vick to his full potential.

Between drafting extremely well and a relatively easy schedule, they have a good shot at making the playoffs. After that it's any given Sunday.

The west coast offense favors a mobile quarterback..ie Steve Young, Vick is a better athlete than Young but NOT a better quarterback so it is hard to make a comparison there, but I think Vick will do well if he just plays the game and doesnt try to do it all on every down. Hey I like Mike....go Pats and then go Falcons (thats the best I can do)
  • Vick has playmaking ability never before seen from the Quarterback position in the NFL. The man is absolutely scary. He only needs some talent at the WR position and a good defense to take his team to the Superbowl.

The big if with Vick is injuries. I don't think his body will hold up unless he changes his style. If he changes his style, all of a sudden he's not such a great playmaker.

Perhaps in the right offense, and with the right coaching, he could eventually become another Steve Young type player.

  • He reminds me alot of a younger Randall Cunningham. Phenomenal arm, and great running skills. He is a bit better, but they BOTH may just end up without SuperBowl rings.

I have yet to see that amazing combo of passing and throwing from a QB, work in the NFL. It's great for ESPN highlights, but by being 2 dimensional, it usually seems to work against most of these type QBs.

Maybe it is the itch to run instead of waiting another second or two in the pocket for a wide receiver to open up. Not quite sure.

7 MVP awards, the single season HR record, career walks record, single season walks record, 700HR/500SB, and two batting titles near 40 years old. How can one argue that those aren't stats of the greatest to ever play the game??? All this and there is still more to come!!!! Bonds:2005 NL MVP. Or are you going to doubt him again?
