Question on coin in Ben Franklin's Autobiography

Hi,
I posted this on the US Forum. Can anyone here elaborate.

Does anyone have any idea what a Dutch Dollar is?

In the Ben Franklin Autobiography "my whole stock of cash consisted of a Dutch Dollar and about a Shilling in copper"

Anyone have any reference on this coin that must have circulated in the colonies

Thanks

Probably a Dutch "daalder", from which we get the word "dollar".
