I knew a guy who used to nail his coins to the barn wall. Everytime he got something interesting, he'd take it out to the barn and nail it up next to the other coins. If the coin was too thick or tough, he'd drill a small starter hole to make it easier to nail. At the time I was a kid and didn't know any better, now it gives me the shivers just thinking about it. He had a nice bunch of coins on the wall too. When I was a kid the silver coins were silver and not clad things. He did keep the gold coins up high (compared to a kid) so it would be hard to get a claw hammer on them to pry them off the wall though.
