My VoteThurmanIn.com Website is Quoted in the New York Post

“He was the first Yankee since Joe DiMaggio to hit .300 or more and have 100 or more RBIs three years in a row. He also won three Gold Gloves at the hardest position. He compiled a lifetime batting average of .292, and as pointed out in the website: VoteThurmanIn.com, that's a better mark than Hall of Fame catchers Yogi Berra, Roy Campanella, Johnny Bench, and Carlton Fisk.”

  • Yes, as long as it is oatmeal raisin, my favorite.
  • Whether I believe he belongs or not, I think your passion is a nice tribute!

Also, its pretty cool that it is acknowledged in a news story.
  • I for one fully support your efforts - I lived in NY in the 70's and I lived and breathed the Yankees in those days - still follow them - but then it was a passion. I remember the year Thurman came up and remember him getting rookie of the year in 1970 - that was a great season for the Yanks after some attrocious seasons between 65 and 69. Anyway - he changed the make up of the ball team, he gave the team a leader and I think Steinbrenner did a great thing by naming him the first captain since Lou Gehrig that was a monumental thing for the Yankees and it stands as a tribute to what Munson meant to the team.
  • FC57Coins,

It is likely that Thurman will never get into the HOF but the way I look at it is he is already in the Yankee Hall of Fame and that says something alone.

I started rooting for the Yankees in 1968 so I witnessed the lean years...but then came Thurman.
