Question Bowman Chrome 2004 new release

I have been offered three cases of this product through a Pa. distributor who is a friend of mine from past shows.

Do you modern guys think this product will sell well or is there too much competition out there?

How much is a reasonable box/case price.

I am buying them at just a shade over cost and am interested in re-selling them on Ebay, or to you folks, if interested.

My 3 case cost is : $2,185 for 3 cases or about $730 case shipped.

Also, is this price fair?

I would discount price further for sale now or hold them to see if they get in greater demand.

However, it is my experience that the second issue, BCDP, does better , but then again there is another Bowman product, "Sterling" which looks to dilute and milk a good thing that wasn't broke.

Thoughts on this upcoming product release, fair pricing , selling on Ebay or holding.

Thanks,

EW

Bowman Chrome will sell, but the question of how much is completely dependent on the checklist. On ebay, cases are going for about $100 less than that, though that price will go up as release nears. Right now one guy has 3 cases with a $650 BIN. Also, make sure you are getting 12-box cases at that price, not the 6-box cases. Without knowing the checklists, it's going to be tough to compare this year's BC with BCDP, or even last year's BCDP. There are quite a few good prospects in double and triple-A with no cards yet, so we just have to wait and see where they show up. If there's another Bowman product coming (details, please), it's even tougher. If there is another set, it'll probably be a duplication of a good part of the BC checklist, depending on if it's smaller or larger. Plus, I imagine it would be a higher-end product, so those cards would be more likely to be the ones in demand, or maybe not, as Bowman's Best has fallen out of favor unless the cards are auto'd. At $730 per case, I'd hold off.

  • If you look in the August Beckett, it lists the 20 1st year players in the set. This may give you an idea on how it will break.
