Possible PVC in these 2 places?

BochimanBochiman Posts: 25,556 ✭✭✭✭✭
Wondering if people who know PVC better than I can answer these 2 questions:

1) In the bank rolls that are wrapped in plastic (I get from Bank of America)....like the nickels and quarters, is that plastic PVC?
I would like to keep the rolls I get in the "original" wrap as received from the bank, but not if it is harmful to them.

2) I bought some of the State quarters "Greetings from America" sets (Card sets and Portfolios) for my son as he grows. Is the plastic that is used to cover it PVC or is it non-harmful? Again, I would like to keep these original for Jr to grow into, but will take off the plastic if I need to.

Thanks,

Ron

I don't know for sure. I would replace the plastic in the rolls even if it didn't have pvc in it. You might get some nice toners with the old paper style rolls.

The plastic used to wrap the rolls is polyethylene [polythene for you Brits] and is not contain PVC. Frankly it is hard to imagine PVC replacing PE in any common application with a low mil thickness requirement.
