2003 George Washington 1/2 lb Quarter Dollar Sterling?

2000 & 2003 George Washington Quarter Dollars
Does anyone know if these two coins, each a half pound are pure sterling or just a sterling coat over some other metal?

What you are asking about are probably silver rounds--the only silver quarters minted in 2000 and 2003 were state quarters made of .900 fine silver.

Welcome to the board. Can you give us an idea of who made these medals? If it is the national collectors mint, it is likely base metal plated with silver. Jeremy is right, if you're referring to products from the US mint, they would be coin silver, 0.900 fine.

Various companies made these sorts of things and some are not real. Most
of those which are real will state the finess and weight on the piece, but this
will be no gaurantee.

I am being told that they are a 1/2 lb. Coin of a George Washington Quarter. There are two of them, one of the year 2000, and one the other year 2003.
I have also been told that some of these coins are full sterling silver, and some of them, especially the ones from England, are sterling over some other metal , like other memgbers have mentioned.

It still depends on who made the medals. They aren't coins, though, as they weren't issued by a government. Or if they were, it wasn't the US government.
