Nice, but he's asking too much!image
Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground.
  • You gotta be kiddin' me!

If any of these sell, I'm rich with my original mist sets from the 40s and 50s, all of which contain nice toned coins!

    They're all very nice lookingimage

With the marks on Ben's hair and shoulder on the 58D, it looks like it definitely got the PQ bump up to 67. I'm sorry...a date relatively common in high grade like that better be high end 67 if I'm going to pay that kind of cash for it!

On the '58-D, he is quoting the POP for the '58 in his ad, not the '58-D. POP for the D is 21. It's a nice looking coin all right. Dave

majorbigtime, I apologize if that hurt your feelings. I guess I'm just tired of "old time" guys who come on here and go on and on about what great coins they've got (which they can apparently afford), their coins look as good or better than anything on here, they're very rare, yada yada yada, and that's it, they're all talk, no pictures. dorkkarl, several others, and now you, have these "great collections" yet "don't know how to make pictures" On top of that, these folks tend to be very negative, always criticizing, always saying things like "who cares?" always tearing down other folks and their coins, and generally not contributing much. So, again, sorry if my comment bothered you. Maybe I'm the jerk. image

No sweat, live and let live. I readily accept your apology, and can understand "where you're coming from".

When you've been collectong for nearly half a century, and have amassed a substantial collection, you may get a different perspective and come across as the wise 'ol man yourself, sonny .

The (sic) was really sick (pun intended)!

Well, sir, if your PM function were on, I would send this to you privately, but anyway, just so you know, taking digital images of coins is both fun and easy, relatively inexpensive (especially compared to the value of your collection, sounds like image ), and I will say that pictures add tremendously to my enjoyment of both my collection and this forum. It's safe to say that without the photos, I (for one) would get very bored with coin chat very fast, and probably look for something more interesting to do with my time

(and once you've been on here a while, you will see that some of the same tired old topics come up again and again, to be verbally rehashed ad naseum but they seem "fresh" ideas to newbies with 160 posts image )

So anyway I'm recommending to you (out of the goodness of my heart, for you, as well as for my own greedy lust to see some of your better pieces) that you look into getting yourself a digital camera. It will open up a wonderful new world for you and us as well, and is really not difficult at all, and there is plenty of help available right here. don't be afraid! drag yourself into the 21st century!

Sage advice, as it does sound like fun. Maybe I'll get my computer-wiz son to help me someday.

I still use my scanner, and I'm sticking to it no matter how much gruff Baley gives me.image
Actually I think the main reason I stick with said scanner is because Baley hates it.
