What constitutes legal proof that i mailed a coin?

If i'm mailing $500 double eagles, Is the insured mail receipt alone enough proof to legally prove I sent a coin, or do i need to add additional services?

The receipts only show you sent something, it doesn't verify the contents. If you're wanting to make sure it's signed, you can use the signed delivery notification where the signature of receipt gets mailed back to you.
  • nobody know's whats in the package. There were scammers selling computers on ebay. When the buyers opened the packages they contained phone books. I suspect it was multiple complaints that gave the complainers validity. I always figured if I REALLY wanted to be protected I would pay a well know dealer I trusted to package and mail it for me, he would be my witness to contents.

A Proof of Service, contents of the package sworn to and signed under the Penalty of Perjury.
