1. Shiny coins are not always the best; appreciate toning and originality
2. Buy the coin, not the holder
3. What luster and cartwheel are
4. Grading companies are not foolproof, but useful
5. Patience; unless it is unique, the coin will come around again
6. Strike characteristics of several coins
7. Some people like Frankies
8. Ebay is a snakepit
9. Coin folk are truly passionate
10. Most people on this board are friendly, knowledgeable and generous with their knowledge
I've learned a lot over the past couple of years, thanks to you folks. My appreciation of the hobby has grown and I look forward to more coins and coin forum.
Thank you all!

2. Buy the coin, AND the holder. Of course the coin is the most important thing, but if you are collecting coins in slabs, then what the holder says (and whose holder it is) is important, too.
8. Ebay is a snakepit, BUT there are occasionally treasures to be found beneath the slithering mass.
9. Coin folk are truly passionate, BUT not always compassionate! There ain't no Santa Claus!
(Or maybe there is, but he only works one night a year, and he doesn't have a lot of elves.)
