How accurate are the estimated grading turn around times

I just got e-mail confirmation for receipt of my first PCGS grading submission (20 coins).
When I checked the status it says estimated turn-around for economy service is 52 days.

How accurate is that!!!

About the same accuracy as estimating how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop.

52 business days, do not count weekends or show days or travel days to shows.

So, website says black out days are 12 to 22 in August, add those to 52 days. What is there? 7 weekends? roughly 15 days, add those for real time counting.

Adding all these up and any other days I have forgotten, your coins should be back about Halloween.

Modern and economy estimates are calendar days.

Are they really? Well I will have to go back to the drawing board and refigure.

I had a modern go in 6/8, so they should be done today. YIPPEE!!!!



No, wrong again. Modern is 55 days. Next week for sure!

I got economy and Modern grades this week, both in less than posted times. 40some days on both.

Crossovers received 6/21, got the grades 7/28, sent 7/29. Sent raws on the ecomony plan 6/24, haven't heard a word. In the past PCGS has been quicker then their ETA.
