Guess the grade:Morgan

I know the pics aren't the best but any opinion would be helpful. I fell in love with the luster on this one and i figured for $15 i couldn't go wrong. Strike is very strong, breast feathers are full, and cheek is clean except for a very minor mark near the jaw..Thanks

MS64 (wish I could see the luster in person).

The photos don't show hairlines, but from what I can tell it's either an MS63 or 64. At either of those grades you would have made made an insanely good buy for $15!
    When in doubt, don't.

Are these pictures yours? The reason I ask is they look like ebay seller ryandavidcoins.

Be at least a little wary (?sp) because the pic was shot at an angle and that will soften the contact marks some. Hard to tell how much.

  • Yes, I took the pics myself...but inside using a blue rimmed lamp (cloudsimage) Under 10x i cannot see any hairlines..I picked it up in Baltimore a few months ago along with another..I got it from a "We Buy Gold" shop..and he said a lady had just brought these in..He explained how he only had these two "AU" morgans and i quickly bought them....The one posted being the nicer of the two....both for $15 each..I was happy..The reverse is just as clean as it looks in the pic and the obverse only has the one mark on the cheek i noted before.....overall a very beautiful coin..TTT for the night crew

  • You definitely got your moneys worth. MS64. 96 was a good year for Philly. The ones I have seen all had good

lustre and a good strike. Bob
