Removing cards that are glued into a scrapbook?

I was wondering if any of you have had any experiance with removing cards that have been glued into a scrapbook.. (vintage).. What works best? I was thinking heat? Blow dryer? A hot bakeing sheet? to make the glue soft again..? Or maybe put them in the freezer? I know people put cards fresh out of an old pack that have the stick of gum stuck to them in there..

Check the Net 54 boards - there is extensive discussion you can find there re: soaking in distilled water.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

If the cards are valuable, some people have had luck with Gone With The Stain - Dick Towle (315) 375-8542 - he has an ad in this week's SCD - I believe, though, some have said he has messed up their cards that were submitted.

That's the link - you'll have to search through the posts to find what you're looking for, though. It's a laborious process - so if you're trying to make $$$ by doing it, good luck, unless you have a ton of free time, or there are significant star cards

inFluX - Or anyone else for that matter, please keep this post updated for me as I have about 50 cards that have that same problem. They are 1952 Topps, 1951, 1952 Bowman all commons or minor stars. I bought a collection years ago and these were in there. I tried nail polish remover without success and just left the rest alone. The cards would grade a 7 with a couple higher and a couple lower if the glue and construction paper they were glued to was removed.

Also, what about removing crayon from the front of a card. Any ideas for removing?

    Thanks,

    Bob
