Maybe we just don't like seeing people ripped off? Maybe we don't like these scammers giving the hobby a black eye, or that we want to distance the honest sellers from scumbags who prey on ignorance?

You're right. What a waste of time this whole thread is. I mean, we wouldn't want to help out any new coin collectors or less savvy ebay users. Frustrates me so much, I read the whole thing twice!!
This has been a fascinating thread.... Personally, I'm glad that there are astute people out there looking out for scammers and raising red flags when expensive coins pop up on ebay like this. The reality is that santa claus is not going to drop down on ebay with a truly gem, expensive coin and sell it for half its value while said santa claus has no feedback and no way of verifying ID and possession.
My style is impetuous, my defense is impregnable !
