I guess this one of those coins that was struck through die grease or something, the reverse is perfect but the front is missing all the letters and date around the rim. Also Jefferson head is very weakly struck. Does any one know how common these are and if it’s worth anything.....thank you DN

Struck through grease isn't rare, but isn't common. They rarely bring a serious premium.
However, there are many who collect these in varying denominations. Since this is a new variety of Jefferson, it may have a peak interest about now...
You could auction it off with a low start, no reserve, and a great set of pictures - no hype. It may sell for several dollars.
Hope this helps...

I had a VA quarter that was struck through grease. This was not long after they were issued. It was missing part of the date and a lot of the legends, with the remaining details being somewhat mushy. I did exactly what ursabear is suggesting- stuck it on eBay, started it at face value with no reserve, attached decent pictures, and I think I got almost forty bucks for it.
Which does not suggest your nickel is worth thirty or forty bucks, or more, or less. It really depends on the bidders, of course. I recall the bidding on my quarter being pretty active. A low start/no reserve auction will draw in more bidders, and increase the likelihood that two or more of them will do battle for your item.
