Anybody own a MJ ROOP binder???

Was curious if it's any different than what you buy at your local card store along with some ultra pro pages?
I understand that the Roops have the nice customization and everything but $50 is a little expensive to me.

Been thinking about doing a 71 Topps set (raw) and wanted something that would protect and store it safely. Just thought i'd ask cause i can't tell much by the scans on their website.

Thanks

Ben

  • I'm one of their big advocates. The binders are very different than those from stationery stores. Moreover, the laminated checklist is a great complement to the binder. I strongly encourage spending the extra money and purchasing the slipcover, this is what makes the MJ Roop system so attractive. Before, I'd have various binders around the house; maybe I'd stack two. Now, they’re displayed side-by-side like books. Their new archival wooden box that houses raw and graded cards has long been on back order, so I look forward to that. Most of the owners are collectors, and they provide very good service. They provide a discount for binder orders over five.

I echo the comments about the good service from this company. I have talked with their rep at the Fort shows, and found them to be very knowledgeable and willing to discount for large purchases. Their new graded boxes looked nice, but as mentioned, I couldn't order any as of yet. The binders seem to get good reviews from the raw card collectors here.

I also own several of their binders and will be actually be ordering more before the end of the week. I debated for a long time as to their value, now that I have them I can't get over how much difference they have made in the display, saftey and organization of my collection. I would definitely reccommend them. As if the great product isn't enough, everyone I have dealt with from the company has been outstanding.

  • I've ordered a ton of products from Roop. I have about 15 boxes for the graded material and about 40 binders. I much prefer the boxes, as the Binders take up too much space for me. However, that's a personal issue. The quality is top notch. I've had some problems getting a check-list or two for a binder, but the phone-service has been good, and I've gotten everything, eventually. Bigger orders give them a problem.

  • Went to their site and wow those look great.. I can't wait to have enough graded cards to buy a box or a binder to store them in.
