Think he had blurry vision that night and saw too many zeros in the SMR value?

  • Can't blame the guy for trying to make a quick buck (plus 4999 of that buck's closest friends! LOL). After he has to pay all the rediculous insertion fees a handful of times, maybe he will figure out that it isn't worth that much.

Then again, I have seen crazier things happen before...

I don't know what the SMR is, but it's at "only" $1000.00 now.

    Look at that lower-left corner. That's a 9 corner?
  • SMR is only $500.00. I've seen cards for more than book but never 100% higher than book. image

Actually, that card trades for $300-$400 currently on Ebay. Less than book.

Plus he can't even spell the word 'high' in the auction right. Then I looked at his feedback
rating. Odd that only 1 negative and knock your score down that far.

I think I got mine for $275 or $285 at the Albany show last winter, though I admit I did some negotiating. That's why I said "WTF!" when I saw an opening bid of $1K and a BIN of $5K on this one. He's must be betting on some newbie with wads of cash to blow will stumble on it and buy before checking the price guides. In fact, it makes me wonder if he even has the card or knows much about it.
  • 2 x SMR puts him in a group with many big-name dealers that think their cards walk on water.

jrdolan, which Albany show? I am in the area occasionally on business, and don't recall any card shows of note up there.
