I wish that PCGS would......

I recently had a 1878-S Trade Dollar (in NGC) get attributed with a PL designation at NGC. This is a georgous example of a branch PL (you gotta love those guys that took care with dies and good planchets). Now if only PCGS would give PL designations on non-Morgans........seems like a revenue increment to me but what do I know.

I'm happy how it is now. When PCGS will starts assigning PL and DMPL do non morgans, the prices will go up and up. Can't afford that...

And especially no US gold coins and patternsimage

Congrats keoj. The ngc online pop report shows only 11 trade dollars have been given the PL designation.
Yours is the only 1878-s with PL. If yours is graded MS61PL.

I agree, when they start doing things like that for all the the other series, prices will blow up!

Why does PCGS not offer a pl designation to non-morgans?? image

I'll guess not enough enough interest and probably not enough coins (I'm not sure about that one) to get a good reference set defined for PL. Thats just a guess.
