Upgrade on a Crossover?

Has anyone ever heard of a successful PCGS to NGC or NGC to PCGS crossover which resulted in an upgrade as well? Just curious.

    Yes, many many times.

    For example,
    1918 5c, NGC MS63 to PCGS MS64
At least 20 SLQs from non-Full Head to Full Head with the same grade (mostly from ANACS to PCGS, only two from NGC to PCGS).

I have had a few ngc->pcgs in the slab upgrades and one icg->pcgs in the slab upgrade.
I think all were ms63's that graded ms64 at pcgs. I had a coin graded pr65 by ngc cross in the slab, pcgs graded it pr65cam. Not sure if thats a real upgrade though.

I've had a few NGCs cross to PCGS at the next higher grade (e.g., MS64 to MS65 and MS65 to MS66).

    Ditto for crackouts.

Cracked these Morgans and submitted them raw.
1879-S, MS-64 NGC, upgraded to MS-65 PL PCGS
1880 Raw AU, came back AU-58 PCGS
    1885-O, MS-64 NGC, came back MS-64 PCGS
    1903-O, MS-64 NGC, upgraded to MS-65 PCGS

I was well pleased with this submission. I'm sure I'll always submit raw coins for grading at PCGS from now on. I have never crossed any. Although there are some risk involved. Damaging the coin, like I almost did. The slab cracked straight across the face of Liberty on my 1903-O. Scarry Huh!! I also noticed a lot of flying pieces of slab.
Annother way of looking at this is, if you let the grading co. crack them, their taking the risk of damages and the coin has a slab to travel in to the grading service. Just my opinion. image

A friend crossed a 1970-S small date Lincoln from an ICG MS64RD to a PCGS MS66RD.

    It does happen!
